Redondo Beach: Where To Eat

food

One of the best parts about any vacation is the food. Getting to try new things and eating at new exciting restaurants is what I really look forward to doing in new places.

While on vacation at Redondo Beach we had the pleasure of gorging ourselves on the best food the city has to offer. It’s been about two weeks and the thing we talk about the most is the delicious food we had the pleasure of partaking in. Here is the low down on some particular dining you will not want to miss out on during your next trip to Redondo.

Casual Dining:

pollysPolly’s on the Pier: This is a local favorite that  you surely don’t want to miss. Polly’s is notorious for their filling breakfasts so we decided to give it a try on our last morning in town. The omelets are fantastic and Reid really enjoyed his biscuits and gravy, mainly because of their gigantic size. It’s located directly on the pier (hence it’s name) so sitting outside and enjoying the scenery is a must. It’s also fairly low priced so it’s great for those on a budget.

Fine Dining:

Baleen: Please whatever you do don’t miss this restaurant! The food is fantastic and the menu is an eclectic mix of new American Cuisine with a delicious seaside inspired twist. Make sure you try the lobster macaroni and cheese with truffles. I have had dreams that have included this dish! It’s a very romantic setting located right outside the Portofino Hotel and Yacht club and has beautiful views of the marina. For a full description of the restaurant and beautiful pictures of the food that will leave you drooling check out this blog.

Maison Riz: Literally translated into house of rice, this is a French Japanese restaurant located on the famous Redondo Beach horseshoe pier. It has beautiful views of the ocean and the beach and you feel as you are floating on top of the water.  Delicious food and excellent service. You may be wondering about French Japanese cuisine (because I was) but it’s delicious. Some of my favorites were the nouveau sushi, roasted duck breast with green pepper sauce, and the foie gras croquette (see first picture and third picture above).

These aren’t the only options of great food at Redondo Beach. There really is something for everyone. If you are looking for hot dogs and ice cream you can find that on the pier along with delicious funnel cake from Charlies. Seafood is plentiful, you can check out Captain Kidd’s which has fresh seafood and will let you pick your food and cook it for you right there. I was told they have the best clam chowder in Redondo.

So if you are looking for a casual treat with your family or a romantic dinner for two at a fine restaurant- Redondo Beach really has what you are looking for.
