Best Things About Business Class

August 25th, 2011 by Hilarye

Reid is currently in Jamaica right now on a blogger meet up. I am currently at home in 101 degree weather, 7 months pregnant, taking care of a rambuctious two year old and feeling sorry for myself. So today while thebabytravels was napping I decided to look through some of our previous posts and also some of the pictures I have taken while traveling on my phone. I came across this set of pictures I took last year on our journey to Tokyo and decided to post them in case anyone else found them as interesting as I do (also these are not meant to be braggy. I can’t stand reading braggy blog posts can you?).

I’ve flown first class many times in the recent few years, and I always get the same question: “Is it really worth it?” YES! It’s this amazing place where you are treated with dignity and respect, get as many snacks and drinks as you want, have legroom, easy access to a lavatory and did I mention the snacks? It’s actually relaxing when you fly in first or business class. I know what a concept right? To be able to relax on an airplane?

Stay At The Jumbo Hostel

January 7th, 2009 by Hilarye
jumbobigYou know I am an advocate for hostels and unique hotels. Recently, I wrote a blog post about Switzerland’s first 1 star hotel in which they have transformed an old nuclear bunker into a hotel. Well by golly it’s time for another rendition of jaw dropping budget hotel options. Check out this old Pan Am 747 that has been turned into a hostel in Sweden! I mean why not? Old lighthouses, trains, and other unique facilities are often turned into hostels why not a giant (really expensive) airplane? And you even can get married in the left wing- sounds like a dream wedding to me. The hostel rates range from $40 for a bed in a shared four-bed dormitory to $170 for a private room with a twin bed and a single bed. The bridal suite costs $420 per night. The Jumbo Hostel is set to open January 15 but has been taking reservations for awhile now. The good thing about it is it’s very accessible by the airport!
