One of the most popular things in Ireland is Guinness. They serve it everywhere, it is plastered on billboards, signs and buildings and they cook almost anything in it. Its no surprise that one of the most popular tourist attractions in Ireland is the Guinness Storehouse. Even though I don’t drink and passed on all of the samples, I found the tour pretty interesting and thought the exhibits were well put together. Here are some pictures I snapped along the way.

The process of making Guinness is highlighted along with some of the old tools used to do it. Read the rest of this entry »

First off, let me apologize for not having many pictures of my food in Ireland. It was very difficult to take pictures of my meals because most of the places I ate were dimly lit pubs. I am convinced that Ireland doesn’t really have restaurants, just pubs that serve food along with Guinness. Despite not taking many pictures, I did eat while I was in Ireland. I ate like a marathon runner. Here are a few of the pics I was able to take.

I recently returned from a brief visit in Dublin, Ireland. This was a quick trip and not a typical vacation for me. For one, Hilarye was not with me and two, the main reason I traveled there was to run in a marathon. Thats right, a marathon, the 26.2 miles kind. For the past 5 months I had been training with my siblings and raising money for cancer research. Because the marathon was the main point of the trip, I didn’t spend as much time sightseeing as I normally would. However, I did get to see some amazing things and have some fun while I was there. Here are some of the highlights of the trip.

I took a day tour in the Wicklow Mountains (again, not the type of traveling I normally do) with my siblings. One stop of the tour was at Glendalough, the ruins of a medieval monastery.

I met Reid six years ago at college. Summer love really is what it was- although it quickly blossomed into more. Then he left. He left me dazed and confused stuck in a world of college textbooks, crazy roommates, and sad feelings. But, we soon discovered why he was meant to leave me alone for a few semesters. He left me to be with her. And although he worked crazy long hours and saw very little of her, I know in some way it helped. He couldn’t take away the pain and sickness associated with the treatments, or unsurety of it all, but he could just be there. I was glad to sacrifice because it was scary and even though I had just met all of them- I quickly loved them as my own.
